In 2000, Eric met Britt and they started a band called “Beggarman”. During their first 2 years together, they recorded 2 full CDs of their own original music, and won several awards for song-writing, and performed in over 40 states.
In 2002 they settled in Cincinnati and Eric became the full-time director of music & worship at the contemporary-style church service called “Crosspoint” at Northminster Church. During their 5 years there, they recorded 3 worship albums under the name “Crosspoint Worship Band”.
Now, as an extension of their local ministry, they have adopted the band name “Eily Sky” (“eye-lee”) and tour 2-3 times a year sharing music and worship in various venues. In May 2009, they released their newest worship album “for the jaded” and are touring (see dates page) that new album along with their stories of faith & hope across the USA.
In February 2010, they moved to Wichita, Kansas, and now tour as an extension of their home church – HOPE Community Church.

The Eily Sky is the cool, twilight time of day- when the sun is setting the cool breezes blow around. It’s significance comes from Genesis 3:8 which says, “When they heard the sound of GOD strolling in the garden in the evening breeze, the Man and his Wife hid in the trees of the garden, hid from GOD.” Adam and Eve were at their point of greatest shame when they heard the Lord strolling by. This points to an Ancient Middle Eastern tradition. When someone wants to visit the home of a friend, instead of showing up uninvited, he will quietly walk back and forth in front of his friend’s home- during the Eily Sky time of day- in the evening breezes. When his friends sees him walking by, he will call out and invite him in!
The Lord knew that Adam and Eve had sinned. He knew that they were burdened with this new feeling of shame and fear. Yet, he walked back and forth, quietly, awaiting an invitation. Adam and Eve ran away. They hid in the trees of the garden. The same trees that brought them so much shame- now they ran to for salvation, hiding from God.
This is the message we want everyone to hear. Despite great shame, fear, pride or brokenness, God is still walking by - awaiting an invitation. No condemnation through Jesus Christ.
This is our message of hope.
